ROBERT OSBORNE'S CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL
                            (2004-2010)

Although in March 2010 this festival set a new
record high in attendance, it did not continue due to
complications caused by the fragile economy at that
time. (The ROCFF was a non-profit event of the
University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism
and Mass Communication.) After that RO became
heavily involved in the TCM Classic Film Festival
which began April 2010 in Hollywood, CA. and had
the same basic goal of presenting classic films on
giant-sized motion picture screens.

THE GOAL OF THIS FESTIVAL, which was conceived in
2003 by UoG professor Nate Kohn, was to give people the
opportunity to see classic films as they were originally
intended to be seen -- on a giant-sized movie screen -- and
share that experience with a large audience in a
beautifully-appointed theatre.

At each year's festival, eight films were shown over a
four-day period, the movies representing different genres
and different decades. After each screening there was a
discussion,  many involving representatives of the film
which just shown. The guest list between 2005-2010
included four Academy Award winning actors, one Oscar
winning studio executive, two Oscar winning producers,
also an Oscar winning composer in addition to directors,
actors and actresses, a film editor, song dubber, casting
executive, script supervisor, stand-in and  film critic along
with several second-generationers offering insights about
films made by their famous parents.
